Rev engine under the hood?

Is it possible to rev the engine on the '02 1zz engine from under the hood? If so, where is the throttle body located?

Wrecked my prizm this past weekend and going to look at an '02 tomorrow to replace it with, I'd like to hear the engine from right there rather than inside the car if possible!

Toward the front on the driver's side there is a black piece with a wire wound around it. That's what the throttle linkage is attached to. Twist the black piece to rev it. It only goes one way, so you can't screw it up.
