Slight 'Jolt' Going From Neutral to Drive

Hi Guys,

sometimes when i'm stopped at a long red light and the ground is flat, i tend to shift to neutral and let my foot off the brake. then recently i noticed it more when i step on the brake and shift back to drive, the car jolts a little bit.

i'm getting paranoid, i haven't noticed it as much from before, but now, the car jolts a bit, it doesn't move forward, it feels like as if the brakes are not holding the wheels still when the shift happens. but then again the car doesn't 'jump forward', only a slight jolt which can be noticed in the cabin seat.

or it could be sth totally different. but this jolt during the shift from neutral to drive is really bothering me. i'm not sure what could cause this to happen. any help please?

also, if i'm in neutral, i hear a 'rattle' sound from the steering wheel, perhaps it might not be from the steering wheel but it's directly infront of the driver's seat, from that whole steering assembly. i haven't put my ear real close to source so i'm not sure.

thanks.

thank you for your reply buurin but more specifically, the loose engine mounts are causing the "jolt" when shifting or the "rattling" sound?

Not sure about rattling, but jolting would be the engine reacting to the sudden change of load...

Park the car, pop the hood, idle in park, turn the throttle (black thingy), and see for yourself that the engine shifts in the bay.
