A shot clutch maybe, did the clutch work good before the new torque converter? If so then I'd suspect the problem is with the new torque converter. How many miles on your 01 btw?

The car has only 62000 miles I drove it about 70 miles in two days with no problems after I did the swap. Tryed to go to work today and nothing. I looked at I think everthing but to let you know for some reason the cruise control did not work after the swap. Any info or help is greatful.

With that low mileage it shouldn't be the clutch then. Sounds like the torque converter may need some adjusting. I couldn't help with that or the cruise control but maybe someone else here can.

It almost sounds like a line pressure issue - does the engine still rev fine when it stops moving?

Did you get the torque converter all the way on the transmission before putting the transmission up to the engine? Sometimes the pump can be not engaged completely by the converter, or damaged if not seated right. (or at least that's true on American cars)

Maco will sometimes test drive and tell you what's wrong for free - it might be worth getting AAA, and having a free tow there to have them tell you what they think.

Ok not what I was wanted to hear but thats the feed back I have been getting the other thing I have been told is if the kick down is working properley. I ajusted it but I'm wondering if the side that goes in the trans is ok?

The kick down shouldn't have any effect on reverse.

There is a host of other things it could be,.. but I'm just thinking along the lines of what is most likely to be damaged when taking a transmission out, and putting the same one back in again then having that damage wait for 70 miles before popping up.

Wait,.. You did re-fill the transmission fluid right? The Torque converter holds a few quarts.
