Hi all been awhile since i've been on here but im back and i need some help my 1zzfe has been makeing so loud clicking and clacking noises when idling and at low rpm till about 2000-2500 rpm i dont think its rod knock at least i hope not hopefully someone can help me with this issue. ^_^

Any way to get a sound clip of the noise online? Been checking your oil levels pretty consistently? Even found that the engine was down more than a quart of oil?

Need a bit more info - Model year? Mileage? When did this start?

Yeah, engine noises are pretty difficult to diagnose overall. In addition to the above, any chance you could do a compression test and post the results?

its a 2001 with about 170xxx miles and its been almost a month since it started making that noise and i have been checking the oil frequently because i know this engine burns through oil.

i had an oil change done almost 2 months ago and my oils already almost black with a slight brunt smell to it.

and i should have a compression test and sound clip by the weekend and also the noise seems to be originating from the head idk if that helps
