Exclamation 99 VE stalls / shakes when coming to a stop. Help!

99 Toyota Corolla VE
136k Miles on it.

The transmission was replaced at 100k miles. Complete replace, was about $1800.

Problem:
Just recently I brought my car to a shitty mechanic near my work, who did a great job rotating my tires, but when I got my car back there was a new problem. When im coming to a stop in the car, as the engine is slowing down cause the car is nearly stopped, youll feel like a very small jump forward and then the engine sometimes turns off. All the components are still on in the car, but ill have to turn the key to restart the car. Now this seems like it happens less, the longer the car has been on.
For the past 3 weeks, every morning, as I back out of my driveway, the car nearly turns off, as I approach the stop sign and slowing down, it does the same, but normally the rest of my drive to work isnt bad.

To me the problem seems like maybe the car is idling to low? Or maybe as im breaking and nearly stopped, its not getting enough gas? No idea really, but im a broke student who needs car advice, and any / all is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This problem just started after you brought the car to the mechanic? Don't try and fix it your self, take it back to the guy and have them fix it, or have them cut you a check to get fixed at another shop.

Could be a number of things that would cause the car to hesitate and bog down like that - if they did screw with it, that would be the fastest way to resolve it.
