I have a 2001 Prizm and the A/C functions great. When I turn the A/C on the green light lights up. As soon as the interior lights come on, either by the headlights coming on or by me switching the parking lights on the A/C light goes out. All of the other lights still work just fine. I replaced the bulb and still no go. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried brightening up your dash lights? I assume you have since you've as far as to change the bulb, but that bulb does dim with the rest of the dash when the lights are turned on.

Yes the dash lights are turned all the way up. The other buttons such as the defrost light do dim when the dash lights are on, but are clearly visible, while the A/C light goes completely out when the dash lights are on.
