I picked up an 01 Corolla recently, I noticed during daylight, the dash is really dark. Are there supposed to be any lights on in the daylight? The lights come on by themselves at dark just fine.The last owner should be arrested for the electrical work he did on this thing, just wondering if he jacked up the lights also.

Seriously? Nobody can tell me if the needles or anything else light up during normal daylight driving?

Nothing on my dash lights up unless the headlights are turned on.

What specifically is dark?

The instument cluster, its hard to see the speedo or anything in there.

They would light up during the day, if you have LED/LCD instruments. Otherwise there is a light behind the cluster that lights up when the headlights are turned on. Do you know if you have plain analog instruments or LCD/LED?

MIne are plain, I guess thats just the way it is, I could run some leds up there I guess.

Plain analog. Three 194s behind the dash provide lighting. Check them out.

Yep, replaced those this weekend and cleaned up inside the bezel, Anyone know of a good site to get LED replacements to brighten it up?
