That's a nice and deep aggressive sound without any rasp.

I like it.

Sounds great . Not too loud and not too quiet. What kind of muffler are you using?

i parked it because it got really bad with its oil burning. it was burning a quart every 100 miles. plus i had just lost the 6th gear syncros and developed what i believe is bearing noise in the trans. but its ok because i have another transmission with 10k miles on it, that is apart on my workbench right now for a lsd install.

the engine is on the stand, torn down. just been kinda lazy about finishing, the engine is getting some attention as well. its a stock rebuild with mwr bearings, toyota gasket set, arp headstuds, intake cam trick (explained below), vvti head swap, mwr flywheel, act HDSS clutch kit. block still has to be drilled and tapped for the celica equal length axles i will be using this time around. then of course the wiring....

ive also been busy messing with stupid random shit with it. like i found out we could use pistons from a saturn 1.9l engine... bore, and wrist pin will work, as for if they come above the deck height or below i have not checked, but they could be a cheap alternative to forged pistons. another benefit of them is they have the option to use Total Seal rings. which are awesome. but require a plateau hone in the cylinder bores. ill figure out the cr and position to the deck height of those later.

as for the intake cam trick, it is something saturn guys do. their intake cam, much like ours, has better lift and duration than the exhaust. so they get a spare intake cam and install it. it has to be timed just right tho. but they are seeing gains of 5-9hp. ill be trying this on my engine. if it doesnt work and bends the valves... fuck it, ill buy baller status valvetrain goodies. but i dont expect much from it with the ultra anal stock toyota ecu's. i do how ever think it will make top end a wee bit better breathing.

this is just the engine/trans stuff.. i am also wanting to do a 01 facelift and redo my entire suspension and exhaust as well. its a whole car revamp!
