I'm a skeptical about the seller.

The eBay ad says the engine is in Virginia, but the seller's website http://www.japanpowerinc.com is in Canada.

Yea it does. I'm betting it revs at least to 6500rpm but it might go higher.

I'm not interested in buying so much as I'm interested in learning more about this motor.

it would be nice if it does rev that high. but the ad says it does not come with ecu, which is really the deciding factor on rev limit.

well according to failipedia(wikipedia) jap-spec 1zz's are reving to at least 6400 and making 140 hp. might have to place a few calls to get a true answer.

if that is true then i would imagine the ecu would be more akin to the celica's ecu with the fuel and timing maps. hmm. makes me want to buy a complete swap just to see. but i dont have the cash for that right now. i would like to source out an ecu for one tho.
