Not a fan of safety?

Running your AC, Heater, and maybe even your radio use more electricity and would affect horsepower far more... Anyhow using any of the above is at most going to use 1 to 3hp is not noticeable.

Sounds like you popped a fuse or fuses. Look by the kickpanel on the driver's side. Start pulling the fuses and visually inspect them. Radio, clock, and dome are all on the same circuit. The trick is to see if the fuse immediately pops when you run the car, cycle the accessories, hit the lights, etc. If it does - they it is possible that you either grabbed the wrong wire for the DRL disable or nicked/damaged another wire by accident.

Not necessarily. Some places use light activated gates, like military bases, some parking garages. No need to assume that OP is disabling with a disregard toward safety.

DRL's are a pointless feature and should be done away with in all cars IMO.

If you think safety is of no value then yes.

Have you tried reconnecting the DRL and seeing they work again?

Which fuse was it? I am having a similiar problem - clock, dome and radio all out. Maybe trunk too (not sure, but another poster mentioned that). I checked all the fuses both drivers side and under hood visually and they seem fine. But maybe it's fault....HELP!

Yeah, that was probably the DOME fuse under the hood. In my case, while everything connected to that fuse was not working, the fuse itself was fine. I replaced it and still fine. So today I decided to see what would happen if I ran a jumper from the nearby HAZARD fuse (which is also 10 amps). And that solved the problem - at least temporarily. So obviously the wire coming into the fuse box has a short or is disconnected somewhere. Not sure if I should try to trace it back to the source - which seems kinda daunting with all those wiring harnesses.

I did jump it across the fuses rather than around the fuses, so if there is a surge or some other issue, the fuse will blow rather than something else. Actually, two fuses are now on that line so I suspect it should be OK...for now.
