Question Help with winter rims!

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla LE, and I want to put in winter tires in my car. I'm looking to purchase black winter rims, for my car. I was hoping some of you might be able to help. The person is selling 4 rims from Ford Tempo, they are R14 size, 4 bolt pattern, 108 mm between the centers of diagonal holes and tire size are 185/65R14. Will these rims fit in my car, they are both 185/65R14, thanks you.

Thanks for the input Bitter :-) So there is no way those rims will fit into my car? Here is a picture of how the rims look like.http://img1.classistatic.com/cps/kj/...348cac_20.jpeg

Spacing is too big, unless you want to drill the rims to the right bolt pattern, they wont work, and even if you did, it's not worth the effort. Just look for some 4X100 rims like Bitter said, echos, sentras, older proteges, escorts, civics, basically most compact cars from the 90's have the same pattern. You could use the tires from the tempo, but thats about it.

Escort will work, focus has a different bolt pattern though.

I got rims on right now that were previously on a Kia. Universal style with 4x100.

But back to the winter tire deal. Anyone suggest any winter tires that would be good for the stock steelies? I have pirelli p4 all seasons on the steelies right now. Do you think it would be a good idea to put winters on the steelies for the winter and ride my other wheels in the summer? Or are the winters not going to give a big enough advantage over the all season pirellis to be worth it. Also do winter tires wear bad or lower gas mileage? I've just never used any before and I live in Wiscompton. (Not trying to jack the thread or anything, it just still seems to apply to op question)

Winter tires provide marginal benefit. Chains are the best thing you can do.

except that you're speed limited by those and some areas flat out do not allow them.

the General Arctic is on sale on tire rack for cheap now, best bang for your buck and studdable.

wow those r prty cheap! 57 a tire. Would it be dumb to buy two for the front and put the 2 pirelli p4 all season in the back cuz i got two back tires that are about done anyways because I didn't rotate.

Really, you guys can't use studs? Wow thats rather insane, I have family that travel alot on the highway and thats all they'll use.
Myself I got a nice set of brand new Dunlop Graspic's when I bought my parts car. A friend of mine used them on his '97 Eclipse end they worked quite well, at least until he ran them all year and his bad alignment took one out.

For studless tires:
Michelin X-Ice Xi2
Bridgestone Blizzak
Dunlop Graspic
Firestone Winterforce
Goodyear Ultra Grip (Studdable)

If you're buying winter tires, buy a set of four. If you only put on two you might as well not bother because the difference in traction that is caused by having two all seasons will ruin the handling characteristics of your car. Basicly ya it would be dumb.
