Transmission problems

I just bought a 2002 corolla ce 5 speed and I have started to notice a bit of a grinding noise while driving. It shifts pretty good with the exception of 1st when cold, but it has been popping out of 2nd and reverse under decent acceleration. The clutch feels good and doesn't slip and I'm pretty sure the mounts are getting bad to cause the car to pop out of gear. I'm guessing either the transmission is on its way out or it might just be low on fluid which I'll be checking soon. Can someone tell me where the adjustments can be made on the linkage to see if I can pick up some slack from the mounts and any insight on the trans would be great.

A transmission that pops out of gear is letting you know that it's about time for a rebuild. It's not uncommon on these transmissions.

I had a heads up that it was starting to get bad and already have another trans lined up for $200 with only 113,000kms on it, I was just hoping to get a few weeks out of it before time to change it. Since I only paid $500 for the car in the first place, it wasnt a deal breaker. It wont be the first trans I've changed and it'll give me a chance to put a fresh clutch in, so i'll know the drivetrain is good and less work down the road. The main thing I was concerned of was oil consumption and he has used only synthetic oil and it is going through less than a quart between regular changes, even showed me the receipts going back the last 6 years. If I am into the car for $850-900 total and it lasts me a few years, then I think it's worth it.
