USA Miss on # 2 cylinder

I have a 98 corolla, that just developed a mis/miss fire on #2 cylinder.
i originally thought it was a bad injector so i swapped the injector rail out with another set i had same results, the chances of it being the exact #2 injector being bad on a 2nd set is low.

My question is will/can a defective coil, cause the injector not to fire?

Update,
#2 is not getting fuel, getting spark, but the injector will not pulse. i swapped coil packs, still #2 not firing....
Off to Autozone & to pull codes & see WTH.

Any thoughts would help.

Have you replace the spark plugs or wireset yet? if you going to replace the wireset, don't buy the cheap shit from Autozone

The coilpack will not affect the injector. How do you know you are not getting fuel? Did you listen for the injector clicking? If you did, and its not, check the resistance of the injector as per the manual. The injector could be stuck open also( no clicking , but the unburned fuel in that cylinder would be obvious). If its normal, swap injectors and see if the problem moves with the injector, if it doesnt then its in your wiring/ connector or ECM( computer). Wiring or connector is most likely.
