2000 Corolla cyl #2 misfire

I see someone right before me is having the same issue, but i figured I wont jack his post.

I bought the car how it is. When you put it in gear, the car idles waay down almost to where its going to die, check engine light is on for a cyl 2 misfire. I was told the cylinder order from standiing in front of the car looking at the motor is 1-3-4-2

i checked all the plugs, all the plugs were dry except for the #3 (according to my numbering) which was oily and black. I bought a new coil pack for $100 and swapped it with, the #2 and the one that was all oily, and reset the code both times, and both times it came back up and ran the same. So now do i replace the injector or is there something that normally goes out that i dont know about?

Alright turns out my info was a little screwed up the cyl order is 1-2-3-4 which means the misfire is on the only plug that was oily. Im going to try swapping the injector out with another one and see if the misfire follows tomorrow

Can you check and see if you are getting compression on that cylinder?

Definately do a compression test, sounds like you may have a piston ring issue or a burnt valve.
