Alternator Mystery

Hello, 2000 Corolla. Battery light came on in my daughter's car. Wouldn't start, jumped it and started fine. Turning on any electrical drain would stall the engine. Everything pointed to the Alternator. Charged the battery, which took a full charge, drove the car a couple of miles and the battery light went out and a voltmeter shows 14V at the battery. Could my Alternator have an intermittent fault. Loose wire? Faulty ground?

Any Ideas?

it could have been, also the alt needs a certain amount of power to make power, so adding load while it was trying to charge the battery...make sense?

Bitter got it.
The alternator requires a voltage the excite the field in the alternator.
Did the battery charge quickly to full capacity or take it's time?
