Number 3 Cyl. Misfire!?!?

Its a 2001 Corolla.......

The car runs like crap and has only 93K miles on it.

Seems almost like the cyl isnt even firing at all. The code says the 3rd cylinder is misfiring.

Any idea? Does it have its own coil? Or is it a coil pack?

The 2001 does have individual coil on plugs. I would first see what kind of condition your spark plugs are in. If they are good then you could check the spark on the cylinder and make sure the coil is firing.

Have the plugs been changed? I'd consider that job number one.

Time for the cylinder head to come off and see what's wrong. Not much else you can do.

That sucks, but hopefully it's just the head gasket that failed.

Wow...
Ok, the OP said he checked the compression on the #3 cyclinder and it had ZERO meaning there is a mechanical problem with the engine that is not going to be fixed by soldering a wire You said rite in your post your checked your compression and it is fine. Good for you, the wire was your problem. He has NO compression the the #3 cylinder, so there for your post was useless to him
