01 Corolla Engine swap

We need to replace engine in 2001 Corolla. Will a 2006 1ZZFE engine fit with ONLY swapping the intake and exhaust manifolds? Is this a simple swap? Both are 1ZZFE.

If he's talking about 2006, doesn't he has to retain the throttle body and a few other sensors from his old engine?

It will fit providing that you swap over your manifolds, throttle body, and a few other electrical parts/sensors.

the sensors nope. and if it wasnt a 2006 then he could use its throttle body as well, but toyota swapped to drive by wire in 05 on the corolla platform. good catch. i missed that.
