Engine chirping

Can you help me figure this out? its been making this chirping noise a while when it idles and I don't have the clutch in, but when I clutch down it works just fine with no noise. First problem i've had since I replaced the engine last year.

Honestly it sounds normal to me and I can't hear the chirping you are talking about.

yeah the camera was pretty shitty. it sounds like a high pitched squeal and only occurs when I am idling or at low revs with the clutch disengaged

meh, it just chirps a bit ill try to get a better quality video camera because there is a definitive chirp it didn't used to have....I haven't driven it in a few months though so maybe I just need to shake out the cobwebs.

sounds like you have a noisy throw out bearing. since you have not driven the car in a few months, it is possible that the bearing has a little bit of surface rust. i can just barely make out a feint noise in the video. but the symptoms are screaming throw out related.

What's a throw out bearing and how do I fix it? I didn't even think to look at the serpentine belt to check for damage

that actually sounds just like my motor. i don't really hear the chirping, but i wouldn't mind listening if you can get a better video somehow. it sounds identical to my motor which i have been worried about myself for a while now, and everyone confirming your motor was alright has gotten me happy that mine is alright. though the one problem mine has which noise your car doesn't have it a slight rattling in the exhaust. somewhere down below the manifold. i was freaking myself out thinking it was lifters or a tap which i didn't know why, because i've never ran the oil dry, or went past 6k miles tops between oil changes. it's good now though.

this is just easier than me trying to explain it.

scroll down to diaphragm clutch. watch the animation. the throw out bearing is a bearing that rides on the pressure plates fingers (springs) this would explain why the sound changes when you engage/disengage the clutch. could be just the bearing getting a bit noisy. could be surface rust from sitting and its just making noise as its cleaned off. i wouldnt worry about it.
