blown head gasket?

well i think i am having some blown head gasket symptoms... after i did a oil change i noticed that ALOT of oil drained out... either the guy must of over filled it, or i have a blown gasket?? the next day i look at the dip stick again and it looks like the oil has risen??? i cant remember if it was that high or not... i should of took a better look at the car befor buying it ... is there any other simple ways of checking for a blown gasket? i cant tell if there is white smoke coming from the exhaust or not since its so cold that it always looks like there is white smoke.... i am gonna drain the radiator fluid and check if there is oil in there or if its low, i did check the radiator cap and fluid resevoir and it seemed like there was dark red fluid in there...

If you have a blow headgasket and the actual level of the oil has risen, then the oil on the dipstick should look off (more like brown mayonnaise than oil).

When you say a lot of oil got drained out, do you remember how much got drained out - how many quarts? How did the oil look, was it dark, light in color, opaque, etc.? Who service the oil the last go around, a quick lube shop, mechanic, dealership? Some of the newer Corollas hold 5 quarts, this generation engine holds a little less than 4 quarts.

Quickest way to check is verify if coolant is being lost. Especially if the oil is doing something weird. Used oil and coolant tests/gas analyzer test will tell if headgasket is blown.

How is the fuel economy? Car is going though more fuel than usual lately? Could have a leaking or stuck injector that is just dumping gas in the engine. Some will get blow out the exhaust, the rest will be blown past the rings and into the crankcase, diluting the oil. Put a couple of drops of oil on a clean papertowl or large coffee filter paper. Note any gasoline odor and how the oil spreads out from capillary action. If it has no oil smell, but smells like gasoline, could be a bad injector. If the oil "blot" starts to look like growth rings from a cut tree (distinct rings formed outward from the initial drops, instead of being evenly distributed), then that could also indicate an excessive amount of fuel dilution in the oil and/or coolant contamination.

the oil that came out is realy dark brown, i changed it myself and its still sitting in the oil pan, usualy when i do a oil change on my is300 that much oil doesnt come out... but for the corolla much more came out, it almost filled the oil pan so i would say 5+ lites

hopefuly it is the bad guel injectors like you say... this thing only has 160,000kms on it.. and the fuel economy i dont know how good it is to be honest, i only drove it for one day and starting stripping it to rebuild the front end..

Yeah, 5+ liters is pretty excessive amount of oil in there. The stated oil capacity of the Toyota 1ZZ-FE is 3.7 quarts (3.5 liters) without the filter, 3.9 quarts (3.7 liters) with oil filter.
