My Corolla is Fin

All done. Leaving work, taking a left on to a very fast moving route, trying to see around a gigantic snowbank... BAM car coming from the left hits me just in front of the front wheels

Car is totaled, won't shift out of park, engine won't start I can't even get the key out of the ignition...

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted guys, thanks to everyone for your help and I hope I was able to help some of you out while I was here.

I'll be selling some parts in classifieds later in the week, like OEM alloys with new Avid TRZ and my K&N drop in. Nothing big, but some stuff.

Nah, it was all in front, so I'm fine. Her car was barely grazed, not even the pass headlight was out. 01 Subaru Legacy. Just makes for a shitty day

Sorry to see that happen, glad to hear you're okay though.

The question now is, what car is going to replace it?

If I can't see around a snow bank I blare my horn for a few blasts and creep forward slowly, usually my horn slows traffic.

Looking at a few different cars, either an 05-07 Subaru Legacy GT wagon or a Subaru Forester XT. A turbo and AWD is in my future, so I guess that's the bright side. A higher car payment is the not so bright side.

The Corolla was a solid car and did a great job protecting me. If I lived in a less shitty-winter climate I'd get another as a DD in a heartbeat.

Sorry to hear about your car's demise, but the good thing is that you are not hurt. cars are replaceable, people are not.

Couple of more shots of the car. The hood actually opens, so I could snag my K&N. I don't know if I can snag the interior vents though, as I'm not buying the car back.

So basically I'll have for sale:
  • 2001 Factory Service Manual
  • K&N drop in filter
  • JVC KD-HDR1 CD/MP3/HD-Radio with soldered harness for 98-02 Toyotas
  • Set of 4 factory alloy wheels with Yokohama Avid TRZ tires with 7K miles on them.
That's about it. Everything else is going to the 'yard. If I can snag the vents I'll let you know.

Glad to hear that you are OK. Looks to be a pretty substantial hit, I'm surprised the bumper is still on the car.
