Outer door handle replacement same as the inner handle replacement?

Yeah so I get in and out of my car under very hard conditions since the car I just got has the driver door handle broken off. I dont know how he did it, but it is gone.

Anyway, I've searched but almost all the threads I've seen are for the inner door handle. I got one from Ebay, made in Taiwan so hopefully its pretty good compared to a China one.

Anyway, is the procedure pretty much the same as removing the inner door lock handle to get to the outer one? I've removed the driver handle's two screws. Not sure how to wedge the side panel out, up and away?

It looks like I have to remove the black window felt trim that is on the top of the door panel, the door lock, and the door lock knob as well to get to remove the door panel. Correct?

Yes, it's similar to the inside handle, but more involved. You need to remove the door panel, then the plastic moisture barrier (leave the black sealant on the door). If I recall, there are two 10mm bolts holding down the outside door handle that you need to remove by accessing them through a window in the sheet metal.

Then detach the plastic clips connecting the metal rods to the door handle/lock (this is tricky because you probably need to wedge your hand inside the door). Then slip the old door handle out from the outside. Now reverse the whole procedure to reinstall.

And to remove the door panel: unscrew the rearview mirror and remove the plastic cover. Then use a small pry bar, putty knife, or screwdriver and pry along the bottom to pop the plastic fasteners out. Continue unclipping around the sides, and then push the panel up (towards the sky) to remove.

Anyone have a hand crank window? I need to get the crank off. Is it snapped on or screwed in?

I found the answer if anyone is interested. No need to buy the c-clip tool. Just use a piece of cloth or bandage like I did, thin strip is good enough. Just wrap it around and try to pull it out like you were shoe polishing it (U shape). The clip will catch and snap out. When you want to put it back, just put it around the handle and align the ends in the2 slits on either side(straddle the two legs, basically with the handle pointing down, insert c-clip from the top and snap into place) then just snap it back into the metal gear on the door.

Coincidentally, Scotty Kilmer just posted a video on the Corolla door panel removal (with manual windows):
