USA 2000 corolla noise

replaced struts due to metal to metal noise, It didn't fix it, ball joints seem ok, car has 194,000 on the clock what else might it be? what to check?? Noise presents itself on a small bump, up tp large bumps

I would imagine you checked out the sway bar end links as well with the work you already did in there but I gotta mention those things. I've replaced a few of them on these cars. I could swear it sounds like a wheel is about to fly off when you have a bad end link.

Also a tip, I always use a big pry bar wedged between the ball joint and control arm to check for ball joint play. Maybe you already have a good method but I've found that to work quite well.

Also check your wheel's hub/bearing assembly. It's not likely with the metal-to-metal noise but it doesn't hurt to check.

sound like a metal on metal scraping noise? or more of a banging or popping? if its scraping then i would check the upper strut mounts for excessive wear, if popping or banging, end links like said above.
