Cleaning the Headlight Fog

Hi,
My Corolla's headlight is completely fogged. I get low visibility in the night. I couldn't do anything without opening the dome. How do I clean them? Any solutions which cleans them?

You have to buff them with a buffer or a drill with buffing attachment. You can buy a headlight restoration kit at any car parts store. Here's a video:

3M headlight restoration kit works great.

Try tooth paste , a rag and some good old fashioned elbow grease. Takes some time, but doesn't get much cheaper.

pchalpin is right. Toothpaste and tooth brush does work, to a point. I did that for many years. Then about a month ago I used the 3M kit. WOW, what a difference, and that's saying a lot, because my lights were 'like new' to begin with. It took about an hour, but I was absolutely shocked at the results. Well worth the $10-15 on Amazon. I cannot possibly recommend this kit enough. My car looks like the lights are brand new and I notice a huge difference at night. A+ product.

yeah i'd recommend the meguiars and 3M drill attachments. the "full" kit is anywhere from 15-20 USD at any local auto parts store.

in my case, i just replaced the entire headlights - because I wanted results but I am lazy, thus I paid more.

lol

You paid way more... That's the way to do it!

But yeah, I second the Meguires PlastX. It's very effective. Be sure to put some painters tape on the bumper cover and hood. It'll take some elbow grease and a bit of time but it works quite well. 3M's kit will make the job a lot faster if you have a power drill although it's much more aggressive (includes actually sanding the UV damaged layers of plastic off the headlights and then buffing it back to a crystal clear and high polish).
