Talking Just bought a 1999 CE!

greetings!

i've been glued here to my home office reading all the stickies, posts, pics and all the other stuff affiliated with the 8th gen. I had a 2010 Corolla S, but that was totalled out due to some numbnuts who was texting and decided to crash his Trailblazer into the rear of my new car (11 days old from leaving the lot).

My hats off to Toyota. the car took the impact VERY WELL. it was a crushed soda can, but took the 55-60 mph hit very well. I was a dead stop along with all 5 lanes of traffic.

long story short, i was so impressed with the car I decided to buy my neighboor's 1999 CE. Old widowed lady, no kids, no pets. 167,xxx miles.

says it burns oil. after reading this it appears like a piston ring problem, but i'll do a full tune up to see what develops.

Well if you read the stickys, all you need to know is there. Monitor your oil level. Welcome btw.

I"d like to consider myself mechanically inclined... but, with the help of the info on this forum and its members... this should be a walk in the park.

thanks fellas!
