I see that it says that it is for 2003
but i didn't know if it could be fitted on a 2001.

someone help this n00b please?

Most definitely not. The 2001 and 2002 model years changed the front bumper cover styling such that the grille is actually a part of the cover. The only removable parts on it are the emblem and the chrome trim.

And even if it was able to removed, that wouldn't fit because the 9th gen (2003 - 2008) models have different dimensions to the late 8th gen styling.

cut out the OEM one and make your own

Grille has been an integral part of the bumper cover throughout the whole 8th gen.
