battery

Sorry, posted this in the 9th generation by accident.
I came back from my class at the college, to find out that my car alarm was blasting really loud. My friend and I discovered it was coming from my car, anyways when i went to turn it off with my key fob it wouldn't stop. i finally unlocked the car with key put the key into the ignition and it wouldn't turn on. I finally discovered that the battery was dead. I never left any lights on, nor the car door was open idk why it died. Do you think it's a bad battery? Or is the connection to the battery lose/ dirty?
Thanks.

Your car's alarm system may have a "starter disable" feature, not allowing power to the ignition.

What lead you to believe that the battery was dead - couldn't start the car or none of the lights/electricals were working?

Is this the factory alarm system or aftermarket alarm?

Did you verify that the key fob battery is OK?

Most factory alarms do not like it when you unlock the door manually, you have to disarm it manually through a physical switch/button or disarm via the key fob. If this is an 8th gen Corolla - then you will not have "chipped" keys, but a starter interrupt /starter kill / hot-wire disable function is not out of the question as noted by kylehondarider.
