Hello, I own a 98 Corolla CE Auto, Great car and great gas mileage. I am thinking of installing a sunroof. Any advice would be appreciated

I agree with militarydave... my Dad tried modifying the sunroof of another type of car, similar to the Corolla. Nothing but leaks after the retrofit...

If you get a high-quality sunroof with a good warranty and have it installed by competent professionals, you should be OK.

If you take the cheap route and try to do it yourself, expect trouble. In your case, dumping several hundred dollars into a 13 year old car really isn't cost-effective.

Except that that 13 year old car, in good condition, still retails for over $5000.

Personally, as much as I would love a sunroof, I wouldn't do it. Not myself anyway. If you're absolutely hell bent on it, have a pro do it.

My car got 82000KM on it and runs like new with no rust. I intend to keep it for a long time 13 years or not. I t gives great MPG and has been super reliable. Just thought that a sunroof would make it less boring for me. It is not a necessity but if i do install one I would get a pro to do it.

I have a friend who had one put in by a shop in a 90 something Pontiac many years ago. He had very good luck no leaks as long as he owned the car. He changed cars often though and I know he didn't have if for more than a couple years after he had it put in. Who knows the long term results.

A 13 year old Porsche, maybe. Not a 13 year old Corolla.
