I got the power outlet shown in the picture so I can plug in a few extra devices - phone charger, FM Modulator, etc.

Since it came with the wires to hard-wire it, I was wondering if that would be something that I newbie like me could do.
The answer is problem NO! But if I wanted to give it a try anyway just for the education value, could I tape into the wiring behind the existing "lighter" connection by removing the plastic panel to the right side of the lighter? (by the passenger side foot well)
Alternatively, should I be looking to wire it into the cassette desk area, where the car stereo shop wired my XM receiver into for power?
I could probably have this done cheaply by the car stereo guys, but I'd like to learn how to do it if its not too hard.
