tinting

i live in NJ and have my rear windows tinted 15%. i want to get the front side windows tinted 15% as well. i know its illegal in NJ to have any darkness of tint on the front windows. im just wondering what the fines are for having it and how often people get stopped for it?

thank you for advice!

I poked around a bit, but could only find rules and regulations...not fine amounts.

Here's a story from '07 where a guy was hit for $150. Don't know if it helps.

I got pulled over 3x in 2 weeks for my tints. And I have 35% side window tint and 20% rear window tint. But I also live in NY. No fines though, they just tell me to take it off.
The cop told me it would cost me $80 PER window if he wanted to be a real you-know-what and fine me for the tint.

yea I dont think you'll have too many problems. If you are pulled over just follow proper procedures and be polite/respectful to the officers. Should be ok. In my neighborhood I never get pulled over, but on the other side of BK I get pulled over all the time. Location has big factor I guess.

Depends.. Is your Plate red flagged because if it is then expect lots of trouble.

Usually they wont waste their time with small shit like that unless you drive like a moron around them which is your own fault then.

I have never been pulled over and all but 3/4" of my front is tinted dark with grey/black plate covers too.

yea lol. well, it has 26,700 now so I have to update my sig. But I work within walking distance and my school was a 3 mile roundtrip. Only time I really drive it is on weekends. During the winter, it sits there b/c Im afraid to break the lip kit.

I was going to say that is probably the lowest KM I have seen on this gen corolla. That is a good reason to keep it off the roads in the winter too. It is a very awesome looking ride.
