Cost of O2 Sensors

So in my attempt to restore the gas mileage in my car, I'll be replacing the O2 sensors and cleaning the MAF sensor sometime next week. What is a reasonable cost for a DENSO O2 sensor? I'm looking up Rock Auto prices and it's about $70 with shipping for an O2 sensor (pre-catalytic converter). Is this reasonable or could I find a cheaper one. I'm going to be price matching with autozone so that I don't have to wait for the shipping either.

Pretty inexpensive for a Denso sensor - be tough to find one any cheaper. Even the aftermarket ones won't be that cheap - Denso is definitely the best way to go on this engine - as it is pretty picky about this particular component.

AutoZone won't give you a price match because it's not the same product. They only carry Bosch O2 sensors. I only know this because I work there and we can only price match parts if they're 1) the same part and 2) have the same warranty.

E.g., if you can get the same part at a lower price but the warranty is half what we offer, we won't be able to price match.

Rock Auto, on the other hand, has OEM parts and those are sometimes better to get than aftermarket parts. Bosch is really very good at what they do but you're not going to find any of their O2 sensors for our cars much under $100 (although that depends entirely on the competition in your area... my AZ has a prime location with virtually no competition so our prices are somewhat higher than the AZ in Martinsburg which is next door to an Advanced and a NAPA).

Thanks guys! I'll most likely change it though since the car has over 112,000 miles on it. Thanks for all the info. And thanks for checking Amazon. I don't mind waiting if it's going to save me at least $5. I'll let you guys know in a week how it goes and if I see a difference in gas mileage.

Only 112,000? Mine has over 132,000 miles on it and it still gets between 34 - 38 mpg depending on how agressively I drive. The O2 sensors are the OEM sensors.

I'm only suggesting that you check the sensors first so you don't end up wasting money that would be better spent getting cosmetic things fixed or upgrading your headlights...
