Oil Consumption Problem

This is the situation: I used to drive 1 1/2 hours to work for three days there and back. So one day is 3 hours driving on the highway. After those three days my oil level read really low. It was full at the beginning at the beginning of the week then read practically empty at the end of the week. It only drives around the city now and no oil gets consumed. I drive back on the highway again and I start to lose oil again. What is the problem? There is no smoke coming from the muffler and there are absolutely no leaks. I had three mechanics checked and couldn't find any leaks. Toyota ran a compression test and all they told me was to rebuild or replace the engine. What do you think guys?

Have you noticed any loss of power or anythong else your car has started doing the same time as your oil problem? We need more imfo them what you have provided. What about anything the autoshops might have said that you didn't include in your firat post? If that is all you know then ask toyota what the results of the compression test were. We can do a lot more when we know more symptoms. Asking toyota's opinion won't hurt either. Sometimes you'll get a grumpy tech, in that case you can go to meineke amd have them do a leak down test for$100 (they're really nice and helpful). I had somewhat of the same problem as you and it turned out to be a leaky valve cover gasket. I never had "oil dripping" but I was loosing oil just as fast as you. The problem creeped up on me instead of just popping up like your oil loss so if I had to make a guess as to what your problem is i'd say a blown head gasket. However that guess is based on very lottle information.
