Exhaust Pipe just went. How much?

Hi All

I am new to this forum having previously driven a 2007 Mazda 3, but since it was a lease we gave it up. To be honest, I think the Corolla runs better and doesnt have any irritating interior squeaks like the Mazda did.

Anyways, the Exhaust pipe went yesterday and now the car sounds cool ( my daughters words)

How much will it cost to fix and does the entire system need to be replaced.?

The car has 73,000 km on it and its a 1998 VE

Depends where you take it. A shop I go to does the exhaust from the catalytic converter back for $125 including the muffler. Most places I have previous been to have been much much more. You best bet is a good local shop (not a chain/franchise) that focuses on exhaust systems. Best of luck!

I made this mistake and just to replace the muffler it was 150$

Where did you end up going? That seems like a high price. Isn't that part of the exhaust all steel which is cheaper then aluminum like the muffler?

This was the original Exhaust system, 13 years plus. I wish my other cars had them last this long

We went to Speedy Much nicer and courteous than Midas

They do seem to last a while. Mines a 2001 and I've only had to replace the muffler and nothing else. I'm sure the Pipes will be done in a year or so though.
