Vibration at S. wheel and noise

1998 Corolla…Had new tires put on and balanced about 2 years ago and car drove very nicely and was quiet. Over time I have a woo-woo- sound and it seems to be coming from the rear of the car, also at about 60 mph the steering wheel will vibrate for a few seconds and quit and then start over again.
I have checked all tires for slack top to bottom and sideways and no slack in any of the wheels. I did find that both rear tires are cupped on the inside. Anyone have any idea as to what would cause the rear tires to be cupped………Alignment, Shocks or struts?….any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Probably balance. Don't you have them rotated and balanced every 6-8k miles? Will make a big difference in the life and wear of the tires.

I had always had them rotated and balanced every 5K miles until the place I bought these said there was no use in rotating the tires. I said "what" and he said I never rotate and balance mine. So, like a dummy I followed his advice and now I have two bad tires apparently on the rear. I talked to a mechanic and he said that the guy that told me this was "out of his mind". He advised me to purchase two new tires and put the existing front ones on the back and the new ones on the front and rotate them every 6K miles. I think this is what I will do since there seems to be no problem with the front tires. I have learned a lesson here, Never to buy from that place again and to rotate and balance at least every 6K miles.
Thanks for your response

I'd try the bounce test on each corner of your car to rule out your suspension:

Sounds like one or both could be slightly off balance where you have phasing between them.

Vibration at S. wheel and noise

tested the car at all four corners and shocks are OK.
Had two new tires put on front and the original front moved to the rear. This got rid of all woo-woo noise and the shaking at the S. wheel. Will rotate tires at 6K miles and keep a log as to what is happening. Thanks to all who responded.
