I have the radio/tape player above the ac, and the cd player installed below it above the cup holders with the open tray between the two(because of the cd player the tray is half the size of your closed tray that has the door). Many of the cars in the southern US with this option have the radio/cd player installed vice versa which I did not prefer so I swapped them.

There were also 6 disk cd players available too and they were mounted in the trunk. I don't remember ever seeing anyone who bought them though.

Before I swapped out the factory deck for my current Pioneer deck, I had an aftermarket 6-disc changer that worked with the factory deck. Had the changer under the driver seat and ran the cabling up the center console.

CD was an option where you can have the single disc player or the 6-disc changer.
