1999 prizm burning oil

HI,

I have a 1999 chevy prizm, I got it in 2000 when it had 9,000 miles on it. It now has almost 141,000. It has never used any oil before, but two oil changes ago it had used about a quart so I switched to synthetic oil. I have drove it a little over 2,000 miles on synthetic oil and it has used a quart according to the dipstick. It still runs like it did when it was new, and it isn't smoking or anything. Anyone familiar with these model corollas and prizms have any suggestions?

You might want to read the sticky thread about oil consumption.

I would check for a leak if it started loosing that much oil suddenly. The valve cover gaskets and timing tensioner o-rings are common leak spots.
