trunk release

I have a code alarm in my 2000 corolla. the guy who installed itsaid my year corolla couldntuse the trunk release on the alarm key fob. Is this true and if so how can I make this work.

You have to add a motor to manipulate the trunk release mechanism. I used an aftermarket power door lock actuator. installed it to pull on the lock rod in the trunk.

The actuator tucks away nicely in the bottom corner of the trunk lid. I got this one from
here here
, hard to beat $4. If your alarm doesnt have built in trunk relay youll need
this. this.
