Need Advice: Kickdown Cable, 2000 Corolla LE

Hi all,

The kick-down cable on my girlfriend's Corolla is seized, and has been disabled. Is the cable difficult to remove from the transmission? Will I need to remove the pan from the bottom of the transmission to access the lever the cable is attached to?

Thanks,

Jim Freeman

Throttle side should be easy. Just pull and you should be able to unhook it. The other end you will need to drop the pan to unhook.

Hi Buurin,

Thanks for your response. Ok that sounds good. You're right - I had the throttle end off without trouble, but I wasn't sure how to get the other end undone. I'll drop the pan once my new cable comes in.

Thanks again!

Jim
