'98 Mysterious Oil Leak

Hello,

I just got the oil changed on my 98 Corolla two days ago, however I've noticed it leaking a bit oil a couple hours after and just today after letting it sit yesterday. It's not a catastrophic leak, but enough to get me concerned, especially since this just started happening right after I get my oil changed.

I went under the car and checked the screw (which was tight), oil filter (which was also tight), and even oil pan itself for leaks but came up dry as a bone. It's definitely not coming from the top of the engine, but it seems like it's coming from the passenger side about a foot away from the wheel. A friend was saying that it may be the "engine seal" if that makes any sense? The engine's got over 250k on it, but it's still surprising that it's leaking oil all of a sudden, even with it's age.

Thanks!

X2 on the tensioner o-ring, fairly common issue when the 1zzfe's accumulate mileage.

Just checked and I see no signs of leaking from the timing chain tensioner, at least from what I could see above. I might need to get the car on a lift and look under it.

USA Tensioner O-Ring

Change my valve cover gasket cause I had oil all over the pully side of the engine - then realized that everyone on here was right - source was the tensioner o-ring. $20 at O'Reilly and 20 minutes of work and now no more leak. What really got me was the dealer told me a year ago I had a head gasket leaking but I knew it was BS.

A can of AT205 Resealer worked for me. I had several seal leaks.

Who ever changed your oil could have spilled some , wash down the engine , run it and look for leaks again.
