Hi guys,
I'm having a problem charging my A/C. My 1998 Corolla it was losing freon somewhere. I recharged it and put leak detector dye in with it. I found the High Pressure port leaking. Apparently, someone lost the cap and debris got inside so the valve will not seal causing a slight leak. Enough to drain the system.
Checkers sells a kit to replace the valve core (looks exactly like a tire valve core), valve core tool and Hi & Low cap. The low pressure port takes the tire valve but not the High pressure side. It looks as though the valve cannot be removed. It is much larger than the tire valve core.
Anyone have any experience in this? Do I have to replace the entire High pressure line? I've tried to clean out the valve as best I could but it still leaks. Putting that cheap Checkers cap on resulted in a broken cap.

Bought another and even put thread sealer in first but I didn't last a day.
Someone please help! Its hot here in Las Vegas!
