Trying to install rear speakers , 2000 TOYOTA COROLLA VE
I already removed the tail light, the 3 baby seat fasteners and removed the bolts, but I can't find a way to remove the seat belts from the slot, do the rear seats LOWER (fold down) if so how do you do that?
Open the trunk and look for little black pull handles on both sides near the trunk lid hinges - pull them and the seats will flip down. At least I think all 'rollas have them - our 2001 CE does. 6.5" rounds fit nicely without cutting the metal deck panel, at least the Alpines I installed did.

Before you actually put the speaker in, fab a wooden ring and mount your speaker on it. One of my friends here says it sounds better than a subwoofer.

If that's the case, to remove the rear seats, lift up the bottom part (just pull firmly on the outer edge of the seat, there are 2 clips holding them down)
Once the cushion is up, pull the cushion slightly towards you, you will see the bolts holding the bottom cushion and back cushion. The bolts are in the area where the back and bottom meet.
I've never messed with the rear seat belts in my car, but if you want the seats down, that's the only way I know.

I was looking at your Picture there and noticed you had a 05 engine in your 8th gen. Just wondering how much did that cost you in total?

Spent about $1000 including the engine, renting tools, and fluids. Would've been cheaper, but I bought the engine as an assembly, so I'm left with a bunch of spare parts now.
Let's keep this thread on topic. If you got more questions, feel free to send me a message
