USA sub frame swap

i have a 2000 corolla that will need an eng and trans real soon. i was wonderinf if a complete subframe assy from a wrecked 2006 that was totaled from the rear would fit. thanks jim

This approach would be the one used when doing such swap on Camrys, but I doubt if

1) the gen 9 subframe is the same as gen 8, and
2) the subframe can withstand the weight of the powertrain when lifted into the car supported by jacks.

Best bet seems to be lift in/out the complete engine and trans through the top. Unbolt AC compressor from engine if you have it. A few parts need to be swapped over from the old engine - search for details.

9th gens were a ground up redesign (although the motor was the same). the only way that idea would work is if you were doing a swap into a 7th gen where everything is basically the same.
