Another cluster swap question

Hello everybody out there, sorry for beating a dead horse, but I'm not 100% how this is going to work. I have a 00 Corolla without tach, so I ordered one on ebay. When I ordered I mistakenly thought that 00-02 was the year range, not 01-02, so I ended up getting an 01 cluster non S. I saw on the FAQ that pin 2 and 3 need to be switched to make the 98-00 to work with 01-02 cars, will that work to make my 01 cluster work on my 00 car? I have no problem slicing into the harness, as long as I can fix the turn signal, high beam issue that seems to come up with the mis-matched clusters. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

No. It's switch 2 pins to make 00 cluster work in 01. I have done that. But not the other way around. Not only you need to switch wires, you also need to modify the circuit film on its back. You should find someone with a 01 and a 00 cluster and trade clusters (I helped broker one such trade before), or talk to your ebay seller.

Thats what I was afraid of. Odd how the newer cars can work with the old cluster but not the other way around. Thanks, if anybody need an 01 cluster with tach, let me know.

Would you be interested in a straight across trade? I have a '99 cluster with tach I was going to put in my '01, still might, but could be interested in a trade as well. The speedo on mine is in kilometers, but you can re-use you old speedo to keep your odometer correct and the speedo in miles. PM me if interested.
