2001 stock stereo question?

I have a stock Toyota A56409 Dolby FM, AM, cassette/CD system. There is a CD option with skip, shuffle, repeat and track number, but no where to insert a disc.

My question is where else in my car could the CD console be? I have had my 2001 corolla for 4 yrs and I am so sick of the radio lol

Those are controls for an optional CD drive or changer. Sold separately. There is an aftermarket CD drive that plugs into this head unit, but it's not cheap. You may be better off just going aftermarket.

Aftermarket?

Thank you for replying......!

What is aftermarket? Can I just measure and buy a car stereo from walmart? I figured out how to pull out the stock stereo. Or maybe just buy an ipod and cassette adapter idk, but I need to do something-its a total bummer not having music besides the radio.

Most any after market deck will fit in fine. I would go with Pioneer decks, they are great. I bought mine for 200$ and it has an iPod hook up as well you can fish through you middle compartment.

You will want to buy a wiring harness as well. Just look on the shelf at wal mart and each box will say which car it works for.

All you need is a couple of beers, soddering tools & some music and your set!

Here is how mine turned out.

GO to Crutchfield.com and look at what they recommend. They are pretty good.
