Question Wheel lug torque

Guys,
I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla LE and would like to ask a question . What is the correct torque for the wheel lug nuts. Every time I carry it somewhere to have new tires installed and later try the tire rotation myself I end up having to replace some studs as well as the nuts. I have repeatedly ask that the air impact tool not be used. I have tried different tire shops and they all use the impact tool anyway. Last case in point, was tire work done at Walmart and I just happened to go outside anyway and there they were using the air impact wrench anyway.
I have just replaced struts on the front and have one stud damaged that will have to be replaced and two wheel lug nuts that was stripped out. Sorry for the long post. Does anyone else have wheel nuts and lug problem with their 1998?

FSM, 103 N-m, 76 ft-lbf, never had a problen with studs, easy for an impact wrench to over tighten.

Have the same problem with my Camry. Nimrods will torque them to 100 + even when I tell them not to. One guy insisted I was wrong and looked it up. Then he says, "Well, 100 ftlbs isn't too much." But of course it can be.

Wheel lug torque

Guys,
Thanks for your input. I tightened all to 80 FT lbs. had to replace one stud and and three lug nuts and all seems to be doing OK. Wish I had as much luck with the knock, knock sound from the passenger side of in front when I run over slight bumps in the road but, will find the cause eventually. That is for another thread.
Thanks again
