Power door lock problem, but not the actuator
Hi, I'm new here. I've recently begun to try to do my own repairs, with some success. Not in this case though.
In my 2001 Corolla, the power door lock actuator on the front driver side failed recently (only the front driver side; the others were fine). I bought a used replacement, but it didn't at first work either. At this point, either 1) I bought a bum part or 2) there's a larger electrical issue. I tested the actuator by wiring it up to the power from the passenger side actuator and it worked fine (I also tested my old actuator, which didn't work). So, I guess there's a larger electrical problem, one that may have ruined the old actuator. Is there anything I can do to narrow down the issue further?
Side note: I've had issues with the driver side power window as well recently; it would get stuck when rolled down, but only sometimes. I assume this isn't related to the power door lock, but I could be wrong. I replaced the window motor and regulator, but I can't be sure if that fixed the problem, because the window only got stuck intermittently.
Any tips or advice would be very appreciated.
