Corolla wiper motor removal
OK, I could use some help here. I fancy myself somewhere north of a novice when working on cars, but this one has me stumped. The wiper motor has stripped its plastic gear and won't leave the parked position without some manual help. I need to remove the motor and I've removed the four bolts that mount it to the car and have moved the wipers up to expose the linkage throught the hole in the firewall. I've removed the nut that holds the motor to the spindle on the mechanicals but can't get the threated stud out of the motor flange. Is it a simple case of a tight fit that I need to put more pressure on or am I missing something? I removed the cover to the plastic gear but that seemed to be a dead end.
I'd sure appreciate some advice on whether to put more muscle on this part or if that's exactly the wrong thing to do.
Thanks,
David
