Remote Start DIY Questions

Are there any DIY's write-ups for a corolla remote start or is it pretty straight forward? Any brands you all recommend? I don't have or need an alarm or keyless entry.

What remote starter are you getting?
A good place to put the brain is behind the gauge cluseter, ground it to metal back there.
Youll need these wires from the ignition harness:

parking lights

door trigger

and the tach signal yellow/green or red/blue at the ignition coil

I did some more research and it seems the Crimestoppers Cool Start RS1 is a better option for $75. It has a tach, tachless, or preset crank time for starting. I don't want to grind the starter.

I would definitely not suggest Bulldog Security. It was installed on my old car by the previous owner, and my keyfob would work for any other vehicle with a bulldog security system. I just don't think that their system is very secure. Also, the range on the Bulldog system was only about 15 feet. I have had good luck with my security system from Commando. Their alarms and remote starts are pretty cheap and work well. The range is about 30 yards.
