airbag light on; Are they still working ?

yes , all is in the title ,

my corolla have the air bag light since a while and I now ask myself if they are disable because of this ?


Is there a way to connect the computer on the car to see where is the problem?

I don't think so. But have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the yellow airbag connector that's under each of the front seats. This often clears the problem.

how do you acces this plug ? is it under the carpet ?

I would really like to get rid of the light

The connectors should be attached to the underside of the front seats just like in the picture. May be that's only in cars with side airbags.

That indeed would only be in cars with side airbags.

You can open the DIAGNOSIS cap in the engine bay and short Tc and E1 (terminal legend under cap) to get airbag/ABS/cruise trouble codes. For airbag, time sequence is important:

For PRESENT trouble codes, key on, WAIT 20 SECONDS, THEN SHORT Tc and E1.
For PAST trouble codes, short Tc and E1, KEY ON, THEN WAIT 20 SECONDS.

Blink pattern is 4 seconds pause between codes, 2.5 seconds between digits of codes, then number of blinks equals the digits. Airbags are always 2 digits.
