Will this tire size work?

Looking into buying a new set of wheels and tires. They are nice wheels mounted on winter tires which will be perfect since it should start snowing in a month or so.

The tire size mounted on the wheels is 205/50/16.

Will this be alright on my corolla? I'm on stock suspension, no mods. Don't want to rub and don't want the car to look too high either. (reason why I didn't want 17+)

What do you guys think? Will it be alright?

It should be fine, but check the offsets on the rim. I had 205/45/16 on mine and the rim was x7 with an offset of +38 and it did rub a bit, i had to roll the fenders. After rolling the rear fenders, they were fine. However, i wouldn't suggest a wider tire for winter... you're suppose to go narrower for winter so the tire digs through the snow. You dont want the car floating over the snow.

I think 205/50/16 is too tall.

it should only be slightly taller than stock size. cause my 205/45/16 was slightly shorter than stock.

you can use the tire calculator to check.

I think it will work.
If it rubs just get your fenders rolled and then it shouldn't rub anymore. As for height, slightly higher than stock.

From miata.net tire size calculator

Tire Size Comparison

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
205/45-16 3.6in 11.6in 23.3in 73.1in 867 0.0%
205/50-16 4.0in 12.0in 24.1in 75.6in 838 3.5%

You'll most likely rub since the tire's circumference is 2.5" larger than the near stock spec.

Stick with the 205/45/16 sizing.
