The hose that opens up infront of the battery and behind the lamp assembly is the snorkel for the airbox. It pulls air from there through the resonator, which is you have pictured behind the driver's side splash shield / bumper area.

The electrical connection is more curious - I have a 2002 Corolla, and I don't remember anything like that. It looks to be tied to the chassis immediately above. Possible you can take a picture of the bottom of the connector?

I will not be able to get a picture until later because the vehicle is at my parents house but thank you so much for your help. It will be much easier to research now that I know what the part is. Will post a photo soon

For the thingy infront of the battery and behind the bumper is connected to the intake air box, but you don't need to replace those, infact just throw it away.

Looks kind of like the ambient air temperature sensor connector. All corolla's came pre wired for one (only corolla's with a tach could use the sensor).

Couldn't tell you what it is but it's not the ambient temp sensor. temp sensor is much smaller a isn't round like that.

Third pic is yet another fender brace beam.

Connector in fourth pic is for the fog light.
